Creative writing activities spark the imagination and promote neuroplasticity in children and adults.
Here are some activities you can do with your children:
- Write down items in four categories on pieces of paper and crumple them into balls: places, main characters, problems, and objects.
- Put each category of items into three separate bags.
- Ask each child in the class to take a piece of paper from each of the three bags.
- Ask them to write a story based on the setting and the main character. The object and the problem should play a key role in the story. By providing them with a structure for the story

- Then the problem.
- Finally, using the object to solve it.
- Give them about 15 minutes to write. The teacher should start by sharing a personal example, then ask a few students to read their stories aloud to the class and provide feedback on what they did well and how they could improve their stories.
